-The Garden of Abundance CSA Information:
- CSA is an acronym for Community Supported Agriculture.
- Community supports the farm by paying for their share of the harvest BEFORE the season begins. This way the small farm can create a working capital before the season starts.
- CSA sign ups open May 1 and close August 31.
- Members of the CSA Program pick up their share at the farm [in Davie] on Saturdays 12pm-4pm, weekly throughout the harvesting season. [exact dates vary per season]
- Our harvesting season is about 20 weeks, between November and April.
- A share includes a mixed assortment of various fresh herbs, greens, roots, and veggies depending on what is maturing in the garden and quantities available.
- This is a tentative list of crops we like to grow: Tulsi, Basil, Cilantro, Parsley, Arugula, Swiss chard, Collard greens, Kale, Moringa, Mustard greens, PakChoi, Salad mix, Dandelion greens, French sorrel, Beets, Carrots, Kohlrabi, Chayote, Malanga, Cassava, Onions, Radish, Turnip, Turmeric, sweet potatoes, Green beans, Broccoli, Celery, Eggplant, Peppers, Tomatoes.
- There is a shared risk with CSA programs. Crop failure can occur with different crops throughout the season. This may result in varying crop availability.
- Members can have someone pick up their share if they cannot come on the pick up day.
- If a share is left beyond the pickup time without communication it will be forfeited.
- There will be no refunds or makeup shares for missed pickups or abandoned shares.
